David Ray Weber, 78, of Merriam Woods, Missouri passed away September 25, 2021, in Branson, Missouri. He was born October 29, 1942, in Tecumseh, Nebraska to his parents Raymond and Julia (Brockmeier) Weber. He began first grade in a one-room country schoolhouse with only one other student who happened to live on the adjoining farm. Within a year or two they transferred to the school in Cook, Nebraska. During his high school years David excelled in playing football on the defensive side of the ball. He graduated from Cook High School in 1960 and went on to graduate from the College of Hair Design.
He married Ivy Behrens April 1, 1962, and they moved to Fremont Nebraska where Dave practiced barbering and became the owner of two barber shops. They had two sons, Brian and Darin. He then sold the barber shops and became the manager of Firestone Tire in Omaha, Nebraska. He was later transferred by Firestone to Minneapolis. Dave excelled at managing struggling stores and turning them around into highly profitable stores. When the opportunity came to return to the family farm the family moved back to Nebraska in 1978 where he continued to barber in Lincoln as well as farm with his two sons Brian and Darin. Dave also sold Pioneer Seed for a time, he always enjoyed meeting new people and excelling in sales. Dave owned and operated Warehouse Tire Company in Lincoln, Omaha, and Fremont Nebraska. Then later he operated AutoBee Used Car Sales, also in Lincoln. We will always continue to remember the strong entrepreneurial spirit that Dave had throughout his life.
Dave married Sandra Hehn in 1997 and became a stepfather to her two sons Matthew and Stewart. When they began to look toward retirement, southern Missouri lured them both. They moved to Forsyth in 2004, where his circle of dear friends grew ever larger.
Dave was a proud family man who loved being a husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather. He found great joy in attending or visiting about the activities that his family was involved in. Dave also loved football, especially watching the Nebraska Huskers and he enjoyed playing golf. David always had a story to tell or a joke for whomever would listen. He didn’t know a stranger. He was always sure of his salvation in Jesus. He was confirmed at Osage Evangelical Church at age 13. In recent years Dave decided to take an additional heartfelt profession of faith and was baptized again. He was a member of Church 3:16 in Forsyth.
Dave was preceded in death by his son, Brian, and his parents, Raymond and Julia (Brockmeier) Weber.
Dave is survived by his son, Darin and his wife Laurie and three grandchildren, Dylan, Brodey and Lexi, wife, Sandy and stepsons Matthew and Stewart, brother Dan and his wife Loyie, two nieces Carrie Finn, Laura Gersib and their families.
David will have a graveside service and will be buried next to family at Grace Lutheran Cemetery, north of Cook, Nebraska on Highway 50, Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jim Helgren officiating. There is a link at the bottom of David's webpage with the Facebook livestream.
