David John Eisenhauer died at his home October 2, 2020 after battling cancer. David was born March 19, 1945 to Martin and Louise (Stutheit) Eisenhauer in Tecumseh, Nebraska. David completed the heating and air conditioning program at the Universal Trade School in Omaha, NE. He served in the Army Reserves. He married Eleta Snyder June 23, 1967 in Cook, Nebraska. They enjoyed over 50 years of marriage. David was a lifelong farmer and steward of the land. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Cook, Nebraska. He supported his community as a charter member of the Cook Rescue Squad and served for 20 years. His love of learning led to many adventures including building and flying an ultralight plane and driving a motor coach for 30 years. He loved to travel the U.S. and abroad, his most memorable were his trips to Tajikistan with his wife and family trip to Turks and Caicos. He found peace and contentment at his cabin in the woods.
David is survived by his wife Eleta, daughters- Andrea (Robin) Eggleston, Cook, NE; Charlotte (Marlin) Wallenburg, Lenexa, KS; Darla (Scott) Spires, Lincoln, NE; International Sons Rashid (Umeda) Abdullodzhanov, Khujand, Tajikistan; Ruslan (Olga) Babahanov, Lincoln, NE; grandchildren- Charla, Caleb, Nicholas, Zachary, Samantha, Madison, Lyla, Halim, Aziza, Hakim, Laura, Julian, and Vanessa; siblings-Paul (Loretta) Eisenhauer, Dianne (Bruce) Riensche, Alta (Bill) Bohling, and Lyle (Pam) Eisenhauer.
He is preceded in death by his parents Martin and Louise Eisenhauer and daughter Jill Eisenhauer.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 4:30 p.m., Friday, October 9, 2020 at the Helena Cemetery, west of Cook, Nebraska with Rev. Jim Helgren officiating. The family is encouraging masks and suggests attendees bring their own lawn chairs. The service will also be radio broadcast on FM 88.7 if attendees choose to stay in their vehicles. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2020 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska.
Memorials may go to Carol Joy Holling Camp or the family’s choice.
Interment will be in the Helena Cemetery, west of Cook, Nebraska.
