Darrell Donald Driscoll, 80, Tecumseh, Nebraska, passed away December 29, 2021 at his home. He was born to Charles and Elsie (Butterbaugh) Driscoll on March 29, 1941 in Omaha, Nebraska. He attended school in LaPlatte, Nebraska.
He served his country during the Vietnam War from his entry into the Army on March 13, 1965 until his discharge on March 12, 1971. Darrell was a military policeman and received the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, three overseas bars, Good Conduct Medal and Army Commendation Medal for his service.
Darrell was united in marriage to Sue (McCarver) Cunningham on September 13, 1975 in LaPlatte, Nebraska.
The couple lived in Murray, Springfield, Papillion, Nebraska City, in Tennessee for five years to be closer to Sue’s family, Syracuse and eventually moved to Tecumseh in 2014 as Darrell was trucking for MBA Poultry. Darrell worked as an over the road truck driver for over 40 years. When he wasn’t on the road, Darrell enjoyed watching football and stock car racing.
He is survived by his wife Sue of Tecumseh, step-daughter, Cheri Straw and husband Don of Syracuse, step-sons, Michael Cunningham and wife Debi of Kingman, AZ and Erik Cunningham of Tecumseh, 7 step-grandchildren, 12 step-great-grandchildren, brothers, Ed Driscoll of Pender, Robert Driscoll of Council Bluffs, IA and James Driscoll of Neodesha, KS, nieces and nephews.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, sister Rosemary and brothers, Dan, Bud, Fred and Jack Driscoll.
Private family graveside services will be held at the Wyuka Cemetery, Nebraska City, Nebraska.
