Connie Rae Clark (Hawley) passed away Thursday, March 5 in Mesa, AZ at the age of 88. Connie was born December 13, 1937 to Charles and Inez (Lockwood) Hawley at the Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn, NE. She grew up on the Hawley Farm in Brock, NE, graduating from Brock High School. Connie attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE with a focus on interior design.
Connie was united in marriage to Loren Allen Clark on June 16, 1957. In 1985, Loren suffered a heart attack and was located to a nursing home in Omaha and Connie moved to Omaha shortly after.
Connie enjoyed and participated in many bridge card clubs and golf leagues throughout the years. She was active in P.E.O. chapters, holding many offices.
Connie had a great love for the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team with season tickets that had been in the family since the 1960’s. It was well known that important family events should be scheduled around the football schedule. She was also a fan of Nebraska volleyball and followed the team, glued to the TV.
Connie was well traveled, enjoyed unique art, museums, attending lecture series and was an amazing chef. Travel often included visiting her grandchildren.
Survivors include daughters Lori Clark, Chandler, AZ, Lizabeth Wilcoxson, Wildwood, MO; grandsons Alex Wilcoxson, wife Katie and Nathan Wilcoxson, wife Emily; and great-grandson Theo Clark Wilcoxson, all of Eureka MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Inez and husband Loren Clark.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 10:30 at the Vesta Cemetery, rural Tecumseh, Nebraska.
A Celebration of Life and a light lunch following at Arbor Manor in Auburn, Nebraska.
