Clarene Fisher was born in Pawnee City on September 15, 1937 and entered heaven on December 26, 2023. She was the daughter of Clarence and Gladys (Robison) Werner. Clarene lived south of Pawnee City in Kansas and Nebraska during her childhood, attending country school until she went to Pawnee City High School.
Clarene worked at the Pawnee Drive Inn before moving to Lincoln, Nebraska and working as a nursing assistant at Bryan Memorial Hospital. She lived in Grand Island, Nebraska for a few years and upon returning to Pawnee City, Clarene worked at Warnke’s One Stop. Her work experience also included pharmacy and medical office work, custom sewing and proof reading for the Sabetha Herald Newspaper.
She married Thomas L. Fisher on December 10, 1978. They lived in Shubert, Sabetha, KS and south of Pawnee City in rural Kansas before moving to Pawnee City in 2005 where they retired.
Family left with happy memories are her husband, Tom Fisher of Pawnee City, daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and Stephen Glenn of Lincoln, Susan and Andrew Leatherman of Parker, CO and Penny and Mark Oestmann of Syracuse, step-son Jason Fisher and wife Tiffany of Hahira, GA and step-daughter Jill Roberts of Valdosta, GA, eleven grandchildren.
Clarene was preceded in death by her parents and one great-grandson Garrison Glenn.
Memorial Services: 10:30 am, Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the United Presbyterian Church/Christian Church, Pawnee City, Nebraska. Officiating grandson, Matthew Glenn. The service was livestreamed and the link to the livestream is now available on the bottom of Clarene's webpage.
