Charles Ebeler Obituary

Charles (Chuck) Ebeler of Tecumseh, Nebraska

             September 21, 1949 – January 6, 2023

Charles (Chuck) Henry Ebeler, 73, of Tecumseh, Nebraska, passed away on January 6, 2023, at the home he was raised in and where he raised his own family.  He never wanted to leave the farm, and our stubborn as well as beloved husband, father, and grandfather achieved his goal.  Chuck was born on September 21, 1949, to Henry and Erma (Feurer) Ebeler in Nebraska City, Nebraska, and he married Kristy White at Grace Lutheran Church in Cook on May 7, 1976.

Chuck and Kris initially lived in Lincoln where Chuck had previously begun work in the insurance industry in 1973.  In 1981, Chuck and Kris moved back home to raise their family, and he began Ebeler Insurance and helped his dad on the family farm.  Chuck loved going into the insurance office every day even after he “retired.”  They were blessed with three daughters as well as thirteen grandchildren, who were the lights of his life.  Chuck rarely missed a ballgame or other activity for his grandkids, and he loved to make bets where the loser had to give Grandpa 10 (or more) hugs.  The grandchildren enjoyed teasing Grandpa as much as he enjoyed being teased by them.

Survivors include his wife, Kristy (White) Ebeler of Tecumseh, as well as daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren:  Kim Wellensiek (husband Andy) and children Nolan, Riley, and TyLynn of Cook, Erin Ebeler and sons Henry and Christopher of Cook and Amy Beethe (husband Ryan) and children Brooklyn, Izzy, TaVeah, Shae, True, Briggs, Hayes, and Xaiden of Omaha.  Chuck is also survived by his sister Dorothy (Bob) Zink of Omaha and brothers, Dan (Vicky) Ebeler of Clatonia and John (Sue) Ebeler of Davis, CA and many nieces and nephews.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Erma Ebeler, parents-in-law Bernard and Mary White, brother and sister-in-law Dean and Shirley Ebeler, brother Gary Ebeler, and sister-in-law/brother-in-law Patricia (Fred) Kruse.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2023 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Cook, Nebraska with Rev. Jim Helgren officiating.   The service will be livestreamed on the Hope Lutheran Church/Grace Lutheran Church Facebook page for those unable to attend.  A link to the livestream is also now available on the bottom of Chuck's webpage.  Private family burial will be held at a later date in the Cook Cemetery.  Memorials may go to the family choice.  Online condolences may be left @ www.wherrymortuary.com.
