Charles Barnas Obituary

Charles Anthony Barnas was born to George and Eleanor (Walla) Barnas on June 18, 1955 in Tecumseh, Nebraska.  He moved with his family to Wilber at a young age where he grew up with his six siblings.  Chuck graduated from Wilber-Clatonia High School in 1973.  He then attended college for a couple years.

He was united in marriage to Linda Grove on June 16, 1990 at the United Methodist Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. This union was blessed with two children, Erin and Anthony.

Linda and Chuck made their home in Lincoln, later moving to Greeley, CO for a number of years.  They returned to Lincoln in 2005.

Chuck worked maintenance for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and later for Lincoln Public Schools prior to his retirement.  In his spare time, Chuck enjoyed reading, being outdoors with his pet Yorkies, fishing, coin and antique collecting, going to flea markets, and history.  He especially enjoyed time with his family.  His faith and his family were always most important to him.  Chuck was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by those who knew him.

He passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at his home in Lincoln, Nebraska.
