Carolyn Yoble Obituary

Carolyn Kaye (Rohlmeier) Yoble 86, of DuBois, Nebraska passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023  at the Pawnee County Memorial hospital.  She was born December 12, 1936, to Charlotte W. (Tegtmeier) Rohlmeier and Carl R. Rohlmeier at Pawnee City, Nebraska.  She grew up on a farm 2 miles east and 1 mile north of DuBois, Nebraska.

Carolyn attended Athens rural school in Richardson County and graduated from DuBois High School in 1954.  It was the last graduating class from DuBois High School.

Carolyn attended Peru State Teachers College in the summer of 1954 and also took night classes.  Carolyn taught rural School District 31 (Union) for two years.  Carolyn married her high school sweetheart, Harold Dean Yoble, on June 3, 1956, and established their home on the Yoble family farm ½ mile East of DuBois.  Four children were born to this union, Roy David, Susan Kay, Sheryl Lynn and Lisa Deanne.  

Carolyn did baby sitting in her home for many years.  In January of 1981, Carolyn started working part-time in the State Bank of DuBois which grew into full-time work.  She worked 31 years full-time at the bank and then went back to part-time.  

Carolyn played the organ at the DuBois United Methodist Church for many years, to which she was a member.  Carolyn and her sister Charlene sang for many funerals over the years.

Carolyn held several treasury jobs in the church and also was treasurer for the DuBois Community Foundation when it was first formed.

Carolyn and Dean moved into DuBois from the farm in July 1982, where they still resided.

Carolyn liked to sew, from hand embroidery, to clothes, to quilts.  She hand-quilted her quilts and also hand-quilted for others by having friends over to quilt at her house.  She had a garden and canned.  She loved gospel and country music.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her father & mother, Carl & Lottie Rohlmeier; her sister Charlene Kaster (Chuck Kaster); and her brother Kenneth Rohlmeier.

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband Harold Dean Yoble.  She is survived by her son Roy (Cathy) Yoble; his son David (Ginger) Yoble with children August & Flora; his daughter Emily (Aaron) Jarzynka with daughter Zoe; and his son Brian Yoble.  Survived by daughter Susan (David) Fink and son Thomas (Samantha) Fink.  Survived by daughter Sheri Yoble (Robert Dietrich); his daughter Jessica Fetherkile with daughters Ariana, Layla, and Camryn; and his son James Dietrich.  Survived by daughter Lisa Yoble; her daughter Jordan Lang (Brandon Macke) with daughter Hadley; her sons Logan Lang and Kaden Lang.  Also survived by sister-in-law Lillian Rohlmeier, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Funeral Services 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2023 at DuBois United Methodist Church, DuBois, Nebraska, Pastor Kim officiating. Visitation on Friday, March 3, 2023 form 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska. Interment at the DuBois Cemetery.
