Carol L. (Stutheit) Minchow

Carol Louise Minchow, 86, of Tecumseh, Nebraska, was called home on November 22, 2022.  She was born August 26, 1936 in Humboldt, Nebraska to Edwin and Nadine (Reid) Stutheit.  Carol was the oldest of four children born to this union, along with her brothers, Ralph, Robert and Roger Stutheit. 

Carol married Everett Wayne Minchow of Table Rock, Nebraska on October 29, 1955.  They were high school sweethearts and had recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary.  Carol and Wayne had four children, Dennis, Bradley, Douglas and Lori.  

She had a number of roles outside of the home.  Carol ran the Eagle Liquor Store for several years, and also worked at OSCO Drug in Lincoln. Customers would choose her check-out line because Carol knew them all by name and enjoyed talking with them.   Her grandchildren always enjoyed going to visit grandma at work.  Carol was famous for her meatballs, potato salad and her Texas sheet cake.   Wayne and Carol retired and moved from Eagle to Tecumseh in 2003. 

Carol’s passion in her life was her family and friends.  She always enjoyed meeting and speaking with people and knew everyone by name.  Her laugh was contagious and her hugs were always comforting.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

She is survived by her loving husband Wayne, sons, Dennis Minchow and wife Mary, Bradley Minchow and Lori Minchow, 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, brother, Roger Stutheit and wife Carolyn, sisters-in-law, Claire Stutheit, Shirley Stutheit and Janet Lueders and numerous nieces and nephews who she dearly loved. 

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Nadine, parents-in-law, Everett and Genevieve Minchow, brothers Ralph Stutheit and Robert Stutheit, son Douglas Minchow and grandson Taylon Artman.

Private family services were held.  Inurnment will be in the Eagle Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials may go to donor’s choice in Carol’s honor.
