Calvin Eugene Furman

Calvin Eugene Furman, 75, of Smithville, Texas passed away on April 16, 2024 at an Austin, Texas hospital. He was born March 4, 1949 to Calvin and Doris Furman, in Fairbury, Nebraska, the eldest of their five children. He attended Tecumseh High School.

Calvin served in the United States Army from 1969-1971 with active army service in the Republic of Vietnam. He was awarded the Commendation Medal for Heroism for his service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Doris Furman, sister Andrea Lovitt and brother Steven Furman.

Survivors include son Jeremy Reinke, brother Robin Furman, sister Melanie Laflin (Rick Koenig) and brother-in-law Gary Lovitt.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2024 at the Crab Orchard Cemetery, Crab Orchard, Nebraska with Pastor Ken Tubbesing officiating.  Military honors will be provided by the Army National Guard Funeral Honors Team.
