Brenda Sonnenberg Obituary

Brenda (Palmer) Sonnenberg, 56, of Pawnee City Nebraska passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 19, 2021 at her home. Brenda was born April 8, 1965, in Cass City Michigan to Richard Palmer and Catherine Keeler. She spent her early years in Michigan then married Louis LaFountain in 1984. They started their journey together by moving to Minnesota where they had three children. They later divorced and then Brenda married Mike Sonnenberg. They were married seven years before getting divorced. Brenda moved back to Michigan to be with her daughter Sara LaFountain, mom Judy Palmer and father Richard Palmer. She helped take care of Judy until she passed away. Her father Richard then purchased a restaurant/motel business in Pawnee City, Nebraska. Brenda was asked if she wanted to help out in the restaurant so she moved to Pawnee City, Nebraska with her dad Richard.

Brenda was a proud mom, a loving grandmother, and a caring friend. She had a warm heart, perhaps her greatest quality was the care that she had for others, her unselfishness, and willingness to see people happy. She loved traveling back to Minnesota to spend time with her two sons and five grandchildren. Brenda loved to ice fish and cheer on her favorite sports team the Minnesota Vikings. Brenda also had a passion for cooking. Throughout her life she taught and instilled her knowledge and or recipes that she learned to pretty much everyone that she knew.  As much as she loved cooking, the love for cooking couldn't match the love she had for her five grandchildren. Whether it was spoiling them every day that she spent with them (not just on their birthdays or holidays) or fully playing and chasing them around the yard. Although Brenda didn't ask for much, she would want to ask that everyone reading this stop a second and take a second out of their every day life to help, care, or teach someone, because that's just the person she was and that's the person that will never be forgotten. Although gone, Brenda's qualities live on throughout her family and friends.

Brenda is survived by her three children: Sara LaFountain, Andrew LaFountain, and Shawn LaFountain. Brenda also has two daughters in-law Desirae LaFountain and Ashley Masinas, five grandchildren: Urijah LaFountain, Brynley LaFountain, Everly LaFountain, Brielle LaFountain and Hudson LaFountain, father Richard Palmer, three sisters Melody, Michelle, and Betty Joe, one brother Ricky and her beloved nieces and nephews. She was greeted at heavens door, hand-in-hand with God, her two moms Katherine Bennet and Judy Palmer and her best friend Louis LaFountain.
