Beverly (Lintz) Forrest

Beverly Sue (Lintz) Forrest, 78, of Arlington, Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, at her home in Cary, North Carolina.

Born on February 13, 1948, in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Beverly was the daughter of Ruth and Raymond Lintz. She grew up in Nebraska before building a life and career that would touch many people through both her profession and her generous spirit. Beverly graduated with the Tecumseh High School Class of 1966 and from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Pharmacy and devoted her career to serving others as a pharmacist at Fairfax and Arlington Hospitals, a profession she conducted with dedication, intelligence, and compassion.

Beverly had a deep love of gardening and found great joy in nurturing plants and sharing them with others. Family, friends, and even passersby often benefited from her generosity as she happily gave away cuttings and plants from her garden. She also loved dancing, traveling, good cooking, dark beer, homemade brownies with nuts, and ice cream—especially her favorite, Jamocha Almond Fudge which was an often-necessary indulgence after a swim at the pool or a long day at work.

While attending college, Beverly married James Cole of Lincoln, Nebraska. Together they had two children: Lauren and Scott. She and Jim divorced in 1989. In 2001 Beverly married Alan Forrest, originally of New York state. They resided in Arlington for 20 years before moving to Cary, North Carolina until her passing.

She is survived by Alan, her daughter, Lauren (Cole) Betcher and her husband Josh Betcher, and their children, Branden, Kaden, and Gavin; and by her son, Scott Cole and his wife Lori (Wilmoth) Cole, and their daughter Charlotte. Beverly selected the name “Grammy” prior to the birth of her four grandchildren stating that she “always wanted to win an award.” Grammy’s grandchildren were a great source of pride and joy. 

She is survived by her sister Dorothy Woltemath Scoles of Arizona, who was preceded in death by her first husband Ronald Woltemath and her second husband Gordon Scoles, and her sister-in-law Sharon Lintz of Tecumseh, and many cousins, nieces and nephews and their families. Additionally, she is survived by many lifelong friends that she valued as family.

Beverly was preceded in death by her siblings Margie Jean Farley and her husband Charles A. Farley, Esther Buethe and her husband Eldon Buethe, and her brother Anton “Tony” Lintz.

Beverly will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her love of nature and being outdoors, as well as the joy she found in life’s simple pleasures. Those who knew her are encouraged to think of her often when indulging in her favorite treats. She was a longtime supporter of the Hospice of Arlington, Virginia via donations as well as shopping for treasures at the thrift store that supported the hospice. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to a local hospice. Beverly’s kindness, laughter, and generous spirit will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. 

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026 at the Spring Creek Cemetery, rural Tecumseh, Nebraska.
