Barbara B. (Bailor) Dunlap

Barbara “Barb” Dunlap, 88, of Beatrice, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at home, December 30, 2025.

Barb was born July 10, 1937, in Clearfield, Pennsylvania.  She lived in Pennsylvania, Colorado, Minnesota and for the last 20 years in Beatrice, Nebraska where she lived a life rooted in faith, family, and kindness. Barb worked a variety of places including Ben Franklin, Hibbing Electronics and volunteered at the Beatrice Manor and St. Paul’s Elementary School as a caring grandparent. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Barb will be remembered for her kind spirit, unwavering faith, and the love she shared so freely with her family and community.  She wholeheartedly loved the Lord and faithfully prayed for all around her to join her in Heaven one day.  She talked to everyone she could about the need for a faith in our Savior and to ask for forgiveness of their sins.

Barb was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in caring for others, especially her grandchildren.  She was well known for her love of baking and looked forward to sharing homemade chocolate chip cookies during sports seasons with her grandson’s friends, making countless young people feel welcomed and cared for hugging each one as they left her home to head to practice.  

Barb is survived by her son, Terry Reed of Bovey, MN; son-in-law, Robin Steinbrink of Crookston, MN; daughter, Pam (Dale) Czech of Blackduck, MN, and daughter, Karen (Phil) Dittbrenner of Beatrice, NE. Grandchildren: Charity (Rob) Downs, Ryan Reed, Jennifer (Joe) Walz, Elliot (Lori) Steinbrink, Brett (Ashley) Steinbrink, Sarah Seethoff, Jacob (Ashika) Seethoff, Aadam Czech (Violet), Aaron Czech, Spencer Czech,  Kendra (Adam) Clark, Colt (Rylee) Dittbrenner, and Ty Dittbrenner; and her great-grandchildren: Damien (Caitlyn) Garner, TeeJae and Emmett Reed, Emma, Adrina, Noah, and Lola Steinbrink, Elizabeth and William Steinbrink, Weston and Harper Walz, and Griffin Sand Clark and Anson Clark.

She was preceded in death by husband Marvin Dunlap in 1996, daughter Cheryl Steinbrink in 2012, great-granddaughter Kennedy in 2020 and 12 siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Christ Community Church, 2727 Lincoln Street, Beatrice, Nebraska with Pastor Sam Jackson officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Balsam Cemetery of Bovey, Minnesota. A time of fellowship will follow at the Balsam Bible Chapel. 

Memorials may be made to Christ Community Church or Cottonwood Hospice.
