Anton Edward Lintz was born to Raymond W. and Ruth Elizabeth (Schmidt) Lintz on August 22, 1942 in Tecumseh, Nebraska. He was the third of five children in the family. Anton was baptized at the United Methodist Church and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Tecumseh. He grew up on the family farm northeast of Tecumseh. Anton attended School District #19 through eighth grade and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1960. While in high school, he had joined the Navy Reserves and was inducted into active duty from March 1961 to 1963. Following his discharge from the U.S. Navy, Anton joined his father in farming and cattle feeding business.
He was united in marriage to Sharon Burow on April 16, 1966 at St. James Lutheran Church, east of Elk Creek, Nebraska. They would be blessed with two children: James Anthony and Ann Elizabeth.
Tony's passion was the love of the land and a dedication to being a good cattleman. He received the Kiwanis Club of Tecumseh's Outstanding Farmer Award in 1976 and the State of Nebraska Soil and Water Conservation Steward Award in 1987. He enjoyed working at the Tecumseh Livestock Market for many years on their Saturday cattle sales day. His employment also involved delivery and contracting of propane and sales with Gottula Propane. After retirement, pasture management and caring of cattle kept his interests and love as a cattleman.
Tony was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Tecumseh, member of the Tecumseh American Legion Post #2, Director and member of the Johnson County Feeders and Breeders Association, member of the Southeast Nebraska Cattlemen and member of Tecumseh Young Men.
He loved hunting, especially deer and coyote, (and the many stories that could be told), Husker Football, Volleyball and Basketball, playing cards, socializing with friends, and attending his grandchildren's sporting and horse events. His grandchildren brought so much joy to him and he was very proud of his own children. His fun loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
