Aaron Ray Stalder, 66, of Wymore, Nebraska was born on May 10, 1957, in Humboldt, Nebraska to Robert Lee and Darlene (Caldwell) Stalder. He was raised in the Wymore, Nebraska area, but after a series of moves to Florida and Texas because of his father’s work and schooling. Aaron graduated from Wayne High School with the class of 1975 after his family moved to Wayne so his dad could finish grad school. After high school, Aaron worked in Lincoln at Great Plains Millwork, a body shop, and Duncan Aviation before moving to rural Richardson County. After moving south of Humboldt, Nebraska he worked at a cabinet factory in Falls City. Aaron remodeled his little house by the South Fork of the Nemaha River and set up a blacksmith and woodworking shop in a shed on the property. He loved working with Bees, gardening, and being self-sufficient and fiercely independent. The last fifteen years of his life his main passion was Blacksmithing. Aaron was a hopeless perfectionist and made the meticulous look easy. Even after breaking his back in an accident, he insisted on cutting his own firewood and doing his own work.
Aaron passed away early Friday morning on April 26, 2024, at his home in Wymore, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of sixty-six years, eleven months, and sixteen days. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Edward Stalder and his sister Janice Stalder.
Aaron is survived by his brothers: Robert Stalder of Kansas and Daniel Stalder of Wymore, NE; a sister Shonti Stalder of Missouri, and many other relatives and friends.
