Vincent Pella Obituary

Vincent S. Pella was born to Clemence and Ethelreda (Gottula) Pella on April 7, 1955 in Tecumseh, Nebraska.  He attended K-6 at St. Mary’s Catholic School in St. Mary, Nebraska and 7-12 at Tecumseh Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1973.

He was united in marriage to Rosemary L. Rauner on June 5, 1976 at the St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska.  To this union were born two children, Russell and Angela.  Vince and Rosemary made their home in Tecumseh where they raised their family.

Vince worked for the BNSF Railroad for 35 years from 1973 until medically retiring as a foreman in 2008.  Over the years, Vince served as Co-Vice President and Co-President of St. Andrew School Board, was a Boy Scout leader, and helped out with his children’s activities.  In his spare time, Vince loved hunting, fishing, boating, camping, seeing sites, barbecuing, tinkering, attending events of family and friends, and surfing the internet. His very favorite times were spent with his grandson Ty, as they were Best Buddies.

He battled Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and went through two different rounds of chemotherapy, resulting in heart problems that eventually required placement of an LVAD heart pump in May of 2014.  After living an active life despite this set of challenges, Vince passed away in his home on December 31, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.  He was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, son, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife Rosemary of Tecumseh, son, Russell D. Pella of Tulsa, OK, daughter, Angela J. Pella and special friend Ryan of Gilbert, AZ, grandson, Ty D. Pella and Ryan’s son, Ryan, and daughter, Payton. He also has several close living family members including his mother, Ethelreda Pella of Tecumseh, siblings, Thomas Pella and wife Collette of Aurora, CO, Theresa Pella and husband Mike of Lincoln, Gregory Pella and wife Kim of Lincoln, Jeanne Speckmann of Cook, Josephine Reed of Centerton, AR, Jerome Pella of Weeping Water, Martin Pella and wife Kim of Lincoln, Clement Pella and fiancé Maggie of Lincoln and Mary Pella of Tucson, AZ, sister-and brothers-in-law, Regina Doty of Tecumseh, Randy Dittmer of Tecumseh, Richard Rauner and wife Diane of Humboldt, Mike Rauner and special friend Maria of Tecumseh and Jon Rauner and wife Julie of Omaha along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
