Sandra Louise Hardesty was born May 21, 1946 to Thomas Arthur and Iona Irene (Robson) Hardesty in Mindenmines, Missouri. When she was three years old her family moved from Missouri to Detroit, Michigan where her father worked for the Chrysler Plant. After four years, when Sandy was seven, they moved back to Missouri. Sandy attended Greenfield Park and Cordal Schools for elementary and middle school. In 1957 her brother Joe was born. Sandy worked small jobs as a clerk in a produce store after she left school.
Sandy was united in marriage to Richard Lee Hardesty in Kansas City, Kansas on July 17, 1972. To this union two sons were born, Richard, Jr and Gene. The couple divorced in 2004 and Richard, Sr. passed away Feb. 28, 2008. Sandy moved to Tecumseh, Nebraska around 2011 to be closer to her family.
In her younger days, Sandy loved dancing, and she also enjoyed crocheting afghans, reading, was an Elvis fan and loved collecting teddy bears and angels. She especially loved her dogs and spending time with her family.
She passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018 at her home in Tecumseh at the age of 72 years.
She is survived by her sons, Richard Hardesty, Jr. and wife Heather of Tecumseh and Gene Hardesty and wife Missy of Plattsmouth, grandchildren, Erin (Rosemarie) Grover of Queen Creek, AZ and Alicia Grover of Casa Grande, AZ, Konnor, Chase, Saydee and Harlee Hardesty of Tecumseh, Andrea and Taylor Hardesty of Plattsmouth, one great granddaughter, Aaliyah Grover, brother, Joe Robson and wife Sharon of Dearborn, Missouri, special friend and caregiver, Loren Breazeale of Tecumseh and many nieces and nephews.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents.
There will be a Potluck Celebration of Life gathering at 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2018 at her son Rick Hardesty's residence, 72857 620 Avenue Tecumseh, Nebraska.
