Rosemarie Sylvia (Kramer) Lempka was born at home near Unadilla, Nebraska to Henry Carl and Wilhelmina Maria (Pieper) Kramer on March 28, 1933.  She attended rural schools near Unadilla and Cook and graduated from Cook High School in 1950.  Rosie was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

She was united in marriage to Robert E. Lempka at St. Mary Catholic Church on October 28, 1954.   After their marriage, Rosie joined the Catholic Church.  To this union four children were born.

After their marriage, Rosie worked for the Campbell’s Soup Company for one year.  Rosie’s life was her family, faith and working as a nurse’s aide at the Johnson County Hospital. She began her nursing career at Lanspa's Hospital in 1950 and after the new hospital was built, she began working there.  Rosie worked for the Johnson County Hospital from Sept. 1, 1970 until her retirement March 2, 2008.  She primarily worked the 7-3 shift and babies were her specialty.  Rosie was thrilled to receive the Caring Kind Employee Award from the hospital in 1987.  She also did health care for others after her retirement.  When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed flowers, gardening, photography and cooking.  Rosie was proud of the fact that her family members are still involved in helping others which continues her legacy of caring for people.

Rosie was a long-time member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and Altar Society.  She was a faithful worker in service to her Lord.  Rosie was the epitome of a kind, caring person and she would do anything for anyone and never expected anything in return.
