Roberta Marie (Colson) Staley

   Roberta Marie (Colson) Staley was born January 20, 1936 to Elmer and Lauretta (Skidmore) Colson in Pawnee City, Nebraska.  She attended elementary and high school in Pawnee City, Nebraska.

  Roberta was united in marriage to Keith Staley on August 14, 1959 in Pawnee City, Nebraska.  The couple made their home in Tecumseh, where they raised their family and Roberta assisted Keith with his appliance and repair business.  She and Keith also cleaned the First Baptist Church for many years.  She received the LOIS (Lifetime of Instruction and Service) Award from the church.  The love of her life was her family and her faith.  She especially enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

  Roberta passed away on November 5, 2017 at the age of 81 years at Good Samaritan in Auburn.

   She will be missed, until we meet again, by her son, Donald Staley of Tecumseh and daughters, Joyce Lockard and husband Jerry and Rebecca Kling and husband Ron of Auburn, 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, sisters, Betty Colson of Tecumseh and Sandra Menninga of Summerfield, KS and Diane Hall of Pawnee City, brothers, Dale Colson and wife Marva of Beatrice, Richard Colson of Cottage Grove, Oregon and sisters-in-law, Betty Colson of Lincoln and Mary Colson of Adams, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

  Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Keith (Feb. 21, 2016), son, Rodney Colson, daughter-in-law, Bernie Colson, infant brothers, Roger and Elmer Colson, Jr and brothers, Bill and Raymond Colson, sisters, Patsy Putnam and Iola Colson, brothers-in-law, Elmer Menninga and Jim Hall, Sr, and sister-in-law, Roberta Colson.    

   Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2017 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Pastor Corey Miller officiating.

   Visitation will be at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m.

   Memorials may go to the family’s choice.

   Interment will be in the Tecumseh Cemetery, Tecumseh, Nebraska.
