Rita Clara (Starman) Fisher

  Rita Clara Fisher was born to Herman and Mary (Buelt) Starman on October 17, 1930 at Elgin, Nebraska.  She graduated high school in 1949 from St. Boniface Catholic School in Elgin, Nebraska and then Rita moved to Omaha and got a job at World Insurance where she worked for 26 years. 

  She was united in marriage to Robert Fisher at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Omaha, Nebraska on July 25, 1970.  To this union two sons were born, Alan and Daniel. Her husband Robert passed away July 20, 2007.

  After her marriage, Rita moved to Ashland as this was a place between Omaha and Lincoln while her husband worked in Lincoln and she worked in Omaha.  After her second son was born she quit her job at World Insurance and was a homemaker until he was a teenager.  She then got a job at the Ashland State Bank for five years until Robert and Rita moved to Tecumseh in 1995.  Rita was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America for the past 50 years, and a member of the St Andrew alter society.  Besides being a loving wife and mother, Rita enjoyed bowling, cooking, canning and crocheting and visits from her family and granddaughters.

   Rita passed away at Belle Terrace in Tecumseh on Monday, August 13, 2018 at the age of 87 years.

   She is survived by her son, Daniel Fisher and wife Kata of Colorado Springs, CO, and granddaughters, Katrina, Katelin and Kristina. 

   Rita was preceded in death by her son Alan and husband Robert Fisher.

Mass of Christian Burial Services will be held at 10:00 Friday, August 17, 2018 at the St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Father Craig Clinch officiating.

   Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska.  Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m.

   Memorials may go to St. Andrew Catholic Church, Tecumseh, Nebraska.

   Interment will be in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Steinauer, Nebraska.
