I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one, Lorin. It breaks our hearts when death separates us from the ones we love so much. The Bible reminds us that God sees our pain and sadness and has promised to soon swallow up death forever - Isaiah 25:8. He will heal our broken hearts by resurrecting our loved ones to life again- John 6:40. I hope your beautiful memories of Lorin and these promises from God comfort you in the days to come. With deepest sympathy, Carolyn.

I was so sorry to hear about your dad. Wish I could attend the funeral but I'm kinda laid up right now. My prayers are with your whole family at this difficult time.

Thoughts and Prayers are with you. Lorin and Nancy were awesome people, great neighbors and had a Heart of Gold.

I love this man. He taught me so much as a kid and as an adult. I'd like to take a few moments to share some thoughts to honor my grandfather.
I came into his family when I was twelve years old when my dad, Jack married Deb. Lorin accepted me into his family as one of his own and never treated me any differently.
The first thing that struck me about him was that he was a hard worker. I mean, the man could flat out WORK. He would wake up very early in the morning and begin his day by milking cattle. He'd spend the rest of his day doing what prosperous farmers do. He would work until the sun went down, then he would wake up and do it again. He did this for years.
The second thing that struck me is that I half-expected him to be angry and so tired from all of that work, but he never did that. Instead, he was able to maintain a sparkling sense of humor. I looked forward to hearing his jokes, making him laugh. Man oh man, I love to hear his laugh and I still remember it and will always be able to hear it in my mind.
Later on in life, as I grew and had my own family, I started to see him through a different lens. I saw a man who was 1000% committed to his wife and loving and caring for her. In Nancy's later years, his love never ceased and she was never made to feel like a burden on him. He just poured his love out to her day after day after day until she breathed her last breath. When she had passed, it hit him hard. Like it should have. Some people have a problem with that and expect a person to get over it in time, but I saw a man who just lost his soul mate, the love of his life. The one he worked hard for over the years to be the provider, loved and cherished throughout the years. Nancy was so happy when I saw her and she had a sense of humor herself. There is no doubt in my mind that, part of her happiness and contentment and freedom to enjoy life came from Lorin's love and protection for her.
There is so much more I could say but this man taught me so much about life. Through him, God has taught me much. So much of what he stood for mirrors what God asks me, as a follower of Jesus to do. For this I am thankful. Thank you, Lord, for putting this great man in my life.
