JoAnne Ruth (Lintz) Wilhelm, 74, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away at her home on Saturday, May 18, 2019. She was born to Wilbur and Ruth (Bundfuss) Lintz on June 13, 1944 in Tecumseh, Nebraska. She grew up in Tecumseh and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1962. She was united in marriage to Jerry Mueller in 1962 and was the proud mother of three sons, Steven, David and Bradley.
JoAnne moved to Lincoln in 1982 and started working in the Canteen for the Nebraska State Penitentiary and retired nearly 20 years later as their warehouse manager. She married Ronald Wilhelm in Hildreth in 1988. Ron and JoAnne started a seamless gutter business and split their time between Hildreth and the cabin at Harlan County Reservoir where they made many friends in the Kearney, Hildreth and Alma areas.
JoAnne loved to travel and took many trips to Las Vegas, NV, AZ and Mexico and also followed son David around as he caddied on the PGA Tour. JoAnne had a heart of gold and was always taking care of everyone else first. She was an active volunteer for Matt Talbot, The Center for People in Need and the People’s City Mission in Lincoln. She never forgot her roots in Tecumseh, Nebraska. JoAnne will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
She is survived by her sons, Steve Mueller of Council Bluffs, IA, Dave Mueller of Waverly and Brad Mueller and wife Nancy of Lincoln, grandchildren, Serena, Sheredan and Madison Mueller, sisters, Mary Clark and husband Larry of Las Vegas, NV and Sarah Doan and husband Houston of Lincoln, brother, Ken Lintz and wife Suzanne of Lincoln, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
JoAnne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ronald Wilhelm and brother Robert Lintz.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Southwood Lutheran Church, 4301 Wilderness Hills Blvd in Lincoln, Nebraska with Pastor Michael Dean Ryan officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6- 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may go to the family’s choice.
Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. in the Park Hill Cemetery, Syracuse, Nebraska.
