Jermona "Jerry" June (Hayes) Beem

Jermona “Jerry” June (Hayes) Beem, 89, of Falls City, formerly of Humboldt, Nebraska was born on July 14, 1929, in Palmer, Nebraska to Jerome H. and Anna C. (Chapulnik) Polak.  They lived in Brainard until she was 4 when they moved to Beatrice.  Jerry graduated from Beatrice High School in 1946 and worked for Bud’s Drive Inn for the summer and then worked for an Abstract and Lawyer Firm for several years. 

On December 8, 1951, Jerry was united in marriage to Lloyd C. Hayes of Auburn.  To this union 5 children, Gene, David, Keith, Susan and Mary Jo were born.  In 1969, she began working for the O.A. Cooper Company in the print shop for 12 years until the company was sold.  Then Jerry worked for the Humboldt Standard Newspaper for 32 years before retiring.  She continued to do Christmas and Richardson County Fair Ads for them from her home and continued until her death.  On July 14, 1996, Lloyd passed after a lingering illness from cancer.  On September 27, 1997, she married Clarence “Slim” Beem of Humboldt.  They later moved to the Eastview Apartments in Falls City before Slim passed away on November 29, 2014.

Jerry passed away at the Community Medical Center in Falls City, Nebraska on Sunday, November 11, 2018, having reached the age of 89 years, 3 months, and 28 days.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Lloyd Hayes and Clarence “Slim” Beem, brothers Gordon (Dorothy) and Lawrence Polak, daughter-in-law, Cheryl Hayes, brothers-in-law: Arlington (Pearl) Hayes, Nathan (Irene) Hayes, Elzia and Eldon Beem, sisters-in-law: Gladys (Harry) Nelson, Helen (Logan) Majors, Gladys, Jeanne (Robert) Shanks, and  Agatha Agan, step-daughters Dixie Hager and Becky Gerdes step-grandsons Darrin and Danny Hager, and step sons-in-law Tim Hergenrader and Loren Gerdes.

Jerry is survived by her loving children: Gene A. Hayes of Phoenix, AZ; David L. Hayes and special friend Gayle Leikam of Buckeye, AZ; Keith L. Hayes and wife Snooks of Falls City, NE; Susan A. Alders and husband Lee of Kansas City, MO; Mary Jo Huettner and husband Jim of Verdon, NE; 8 grandchildren: Ryan (Andrea) Hayes and children Ashlyn & Logan of North Platte, NE; Craig (Jessica) Hayes and daughter Rhiannon of Falls City, NE; Drew Hayes of Alliance, NE; Travis Hayes and daughters Arienna & Taykia of Falls City, NE; Jason Geier of Kansas City, MO; Anna Geier and daughter Jazmine Swett of Kansas City, MO; Michael (Aimee) Huettner of Plattsmouth, NE; Cord Huettner of Columbia, MO; step-children: Kenny (Carolyn) Duff of Bakersfield, CA; Lyle (Denise) Amos of Charleston, SC; Harriett Hergenrader of Homer, NE; Diane (Chuck) ConCannon of Haymarket, VA; sister-in-law Phylis Polak of Norfolk, NE; and numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2018, at The Faith Lutheran Church in Humboldt, Nebraska with Pastor Tim Llewellyn officiating.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at The Wherry Mortuary in Humboldt, Nebraska.  Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment will be in the Humboldt Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family’s choice with a later designation.
