Jeri Lynn (Johnson) Hahn was born to Max and Gretchen (Smith) Johnson on December 28, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois. The family moved several times during Jeri’s early years. She graduated from Fremont High School in 1959. Following her graduation from high school, Jeri attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, where she was a member of the Tri Delta sorority.

Jeri was united in marriage to James Edward Hahn on June 10, 1962. The couple was married for more than fifty-five years. They resided in Lincoln until 1964, when they moved to the family farm west of Tecumseh. While living on the farm, the couple raised three children: Jennifer; Jill; and Jamey. In addition to raising her family, Jeri worked in several facets of the food service industry. A highlight of those experiences included owning and operating Helen’s Café for nearly eight years in the 1980s and early 1990s, and working as the dietary manager at the Johnson County Hospital. She retired from that position in 2010.

Jeri loved life and no matter the circumstances faced, she was able to maintain an optimistic perspective. A friend of many, she had a special way of saying and doing things that made others smile and cared about. Jeri was a 50-year member of Chapter AT, P.E.O. and past member of Friends in Council. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church. She was a voracious reader and excellent bridge player, and she was a member of Bridge Club and Bridge Marathon. Jeri passed away December 10, 2017 at the age of 75 years.

Jeri was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Gretchen; brother, Timothy Johnson; and parents in-law, Edward and Marian Hahn and Margaret Hahn.

She is survived by her husband, James Hahn; sister, Coralie Johnson; daughter, Jennifer Cox and husband Bill of DeWitt; daughter, Jill Hahn of Reston, Virginia; son, James Hahn and wife Esther, of Scottsdale, Arizona; grandchildren, Haley Hayden and husband Brett of Dallas, Texas, Seth Morrissey and fiance' Morgan Boyd of Oklahoma City, Chance Fossberg and his wife Destiny, of Lincoln, Nebraska; Jas, Jackson, Jake, and Grace Hahn, of Scottsdale, Arizona; and great-grandchildren Austin and Avery Hayden of Dallas, Texas, and Zayden and Macie Fossberg, of Lincoln, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Lynn Johnson, of Georgetown, California; cousin, Richard Johnson of Aurora, Illinois; special friend, Darlene Saeger, of Fremont, Nebraska; and many loving friends in the Tecumseh community and beyond.

Honorary pall bearers are Dr. Ted Evans, Jon Fink, Steve Johnson, and Dave Little, of Tecumseh, Nebraska; Leo Knowles of Omaha, Nebraska; and Jim Lempka of St. Mary, Nebraska.
