Janet Elaine Johnson was born on March 8, 1946 to Delmar and Ruth Fecht in Washington, Indiana. She has one younger sister, Patricia (Roger) Dixon of Alma, Nebraska, whom she adored and couldn’t imagine not having her around. Janet was baptized at the Church of Christ in Washington in 1959 and graduated from Washington High School in 1964 then moved to Nebraska. She graduated from Scottsbluff Junior College in 1966.
Family was the center of Janet’s world and through three marriages she was blessed with one son, John (Rose) Bey of Gering, Nebraska and three daughters, Jennifer (Scott) Martindale of Bloomington, Indiana, Jessica (Charlie) Duncan of Tecumseh, Nebraska, and Katie Baird of Tecumseh, Nebraska. She had a special bond with each of her children and was best friends with all four of them. She also had the joy of spoiling 7 granddaughters (Ayla, Shade’, Vanessa, Amanda, Abigail, Jordan and Grace), 6 grandsons who are the honorary pallbearers (Michael, Joshua, Zachary, Demetrius, Jonathon, and Blade), 5 great-granddaughters (Keira, Aubrey, Addison, Rayna, and Theola), and 2 great-grandsons (James and Grayson). Her final marriage to Dickey Johnson shows love has no age and no boundaries.
Janet’s infectious laughter, generosity, friendliness, excellent cooking, and hardworking ethic helped her make friends wherever she went. She put her family and friends first as her heart was bigger than life itself. No matter how her day was going, she would always have a smile for you and ensure that your day was brightened by the time you left her presence.
