Helen Marie (Johnson) Schuetz

Helen Marie (Johnson) Schuetz, 83, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born October 10, 1935 in Pawnee City, Nebraska to Ralph and Nellie Mae (Colson) Johnson.   She graduated from Bratton Union High School in Richardson County with the class of 1953.  Helen was united in marriage to Joe Tichy in 1954.  To this union four children were born Vicki, Laura, Robert and Ronald.  The couple later divorced and in 1978 Helen married Butch Schuetz.  The couple raised two foster daughters, Lisa and Sue Ann McKee.

Helen passed away on February 17, 2019, at Premier Estates in Pawnee City, Nebraska having reached the age of eighty-three years, four months and seven days. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Laura Marie Tichy, brothers Ralph Jr. and Richard Johnson, foster granddaughter Serenity Kay Marie McKee, brother-in-law Hank Sullwold and nephews Terry Sullwold and Steve Johnson.

Helen is survived by her husband Carl "Butch" Schuetz of rural Humboldt, NE; children: Vicki Jo Fleischman and husband Arlo of Elmwood, NE; Robert Tichy of Humboldt, NE; Ron Tichy and wife Brenda of Humboldt, NE; Lisa McKee and special friend Matt Dunekacke and Sue Ann McKee of Auburn, NE; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister Joan Sullwold of Stella, NE; sisters-in-law Ramona Johnson of Table Rock, NE and Darlene Johnson of Tecumseh, NE;  as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at The Wherry Mortuary in Humboldt, Nebraska with Pastor Ken Tubbesing officiating.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m.- 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at The Wherry Mortuary in Humboldt, Nebraska.  Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary.

Inurnment will be at the Humboldt Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the family’s choice with a later designation.
