Harold E Crabtree

   Harold Eugene Crabtree was the only child born to Albert and Lottie (Cleghorn) Crabtree on September 18, 1925 in Jacksonville, Illinois.  He grew up in Jacksonville and graduated from Jacksonville High School.  He moved with parents to Nebraska in 1948 to a farm one mile west of Tecumseh.

   On September 7, 1950 Harold enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  He attended boot camp in Colorado Springs, CO and was stationed in Alaska for about a year.  He was honorably discharged on September 6, 1952.  After his service, Harold moved to Lincoln, Nebraska. He worked for Lincoln Public Schools for several years and then worked in maintenance for the Miller & Paine Company for 25 years.  His father passed away in 1954 and his mother in 1986.   He returned to Tecumseh in 1991.  Harold was a member of the Tecumseh Presbyterian Church where he had served as Deacon.  In his spare time, he enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading.  Those who knew Harold knew he had a sense of humor and enjoyed telling jokes.  In 2012, Harold became a resident of Ridgeview Towers, later transferring to Belle Terrace.  He passed away there on November 11, 2017 at the age of 92 years. 

   He is survived by several cousins and friends.

   Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lottie.

  Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Wherry Mortuary, Tecumseh, Nebraska with Chaplain Sharon Schuster officiating.

   Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska.   

   Interment will be in the Tecumseh Cemetery, Tecumseh, Nebraska with military rites by the Nebraska National Guard Funeral Honors Team.
