Geraldine Uhl (Raymond) Schweppe

Geraldine Uhl (Raymond) Schweppe, 84, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away March 9, 2018. “Gerri” was born December 13, 1933 in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Daniel and Georgia (Uhl) Raymond. She was the youngest of four children born into a proud military (Army) family. Gerri grew up in Crawford, Nebraska and attended Nebraska Wesleyan University where she met and married her beloved husband, Louie John, "Lou".  Lou was ordained at the St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Osage) Church in 1961. Gerri supported her husband’s work as a minister in the United Church of Christ and worked as an elementary and preschool teacher. For the past 11 years, Gerri was a vibrant member of the Brookdale retirement community in Castleton, where she built many cherished relationships. She was gifted in music and art and had a deep love of nature and her family.

Gerri is survived by her daughter, Susan Mairet and husband Doug; son, Fred Schweppe and wife Michele; grandchildren, Colin and Katie Mairet, Jessica Cates and husband David and Sadie Schweppe; great-grandson, Riley Cates, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lou Schweppe and sister Esta Dierking and husband Victor.

Graveside inurnment services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Osage) Cemetery, rural Cook, Nebraska with Rev. Ken West officiating.

Local arrangements are entrusted to Wherry Mortuary, Tecumseh, Nebraska.
