Elizabeth Morrow (Duff)  Barr, 81, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.  She was born to C. Bennett and Blanche (Morrow) Duff on May 30, 1936 in Wilkinsburg, PA.  She was raised in the Penn Hills area outside of Pittsburgh, PA and graduated from Penn Hills High School, and Westminster College.

As a member of Hebron Church, she met the young intern pastor, Joseph Barr.  They were united in marriage for more than 56 years.  Together they served churches in Cedar Creek/Murray NE, Butler PA, Minden NE, Wymore/Barneston/Mission Creek NE, and Marysville/Frankfort KS.

She was preceded in death by parents C. Bennett and Blanche Duff, husband Rev. Joseph Barr, daughter Karen, and sisters Mary Edna, and Blanche.  Elizabeth is survived by daughters Mary Beth (Bob Reiser); Cindy (Dave McNair); son-in-law John O’Brien; sons Bob (Barb) and Bill; grandchildren David, Jake (Devin), Tyler (Christina) and Tucker (Lizzie) McNair, Keara, Keely and Sean O’Brien, J.D. and Emily Barr, great-grandchildren Landen, Amerrah, January, and Boe McNair; sister Sarah and brother-in-law Dick Shorthouse, brother-in-law Bill Barr and sister-in-law Myna Lee Barr as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

Elizabeth had a true servant’s heart, putting the needs of others ahead of her own.

She loved being with her immediate and extended family as well as her church families.  Elizabeth cherished her time with her husband at the homestead that has been in the Barr family for more than 100 years. She enjoyed being a mom to her own children as well as “second mom” to others.

Elizabeth will be missed, especially her kind spirit, contagious laugh, and legendary hugs.
Donations in memory of Elizabeth may be made to the Mission Creek Cemetery, c/o Treasurer Ron Steuer, 210 West Bethell, Summerfield, KS 66541.
