Elaine Marie (Jones) Rothell

Elaine Marie Rothell, 92, of Orange, California, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019.  She was born in the small town of Heron Lake, Minnesota on August 6, 1927.  She was the third of five children to Earl and Magdalena "Lena" (Schad) Jones. Elaine loved Heron Lake but was looking for more out of life so she headed to southern California after graduation in 1945.  Once she was settled, Elaine started working for Bank of America which she loved.  She soon met another banker and eventually married George Rothell on September 26, 1964 in San Diego, California.  George and Elaine had one daughter named Leslie.  Elaine loved banking but soon found her family moving to London, England for her husband's job.  After several wonderful years abroad, the time came to return to the U.S.  Elaine continued to support her husband in business and their daughter in all areas a mother supports.

For over 30 years Elaine was a member of the Bookworm Club doing charity work.  She loved traveling, needlework, dancing and spending time with her grandsons.  Elaine always put her family first and her family loved spending time with her.  Her husband George passed away February 5, 2019.

Elaine is survived by her daughter, Leslie Rothell Miller, grandson, Matthew Miller, grandson, Andrew Miller, sister, Lavonne Selvidge, sister-in-law, Mary Rothell Benson and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Steve and Donna Rothell of Tecumseh and many additional family members.  

Elaine will be truly missed and always loved for she was one in a million.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George, brothers, Ray Jones and Don Jones and sister, Irene Jones.   

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 5, 2019 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Rev. Rob Clark officiating.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska.

Interment will be in the Vesta Cemetery, rural Tecumseh, Nebraska.
