Donna Marie (Peters) Thames

Donna Marie Thames, 83, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born on April 29, 1934 in Taylorville, Illinois to John and Iva M. (Edwards) Peters.  On April 15, 1960, Donna was united in marriage to Charles W. Thames in Peoria, Illinois.  To this union four children, Charles, Rebecca, Margaret, and Andrew were born.  Donna was a homemaker most of her life and moved to Humboldt, Nebraska in 1997.

Donna passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at the Colonial Acres Nursing Home in Humboldt, Nebraska having reached the age of eighty-three years, eight months, and six days.  She treasured spending time with her family.  Donna was an inherently open, warm-hearted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who loved to cook, sew, read, laugh and just be silly.  She was often the life of the party; we will miss her.

Donna is survived by her loving husband Charles W. Thames of Falls City, NE; children: Charlie (Sherri) Thames of Humboldt, NE; Rebecca (Mark) Thames-Simmons of Willow Springs, IL; Margaret (Mike) Meister of Oglesby, IL; and Andrew Thames of Wheaton, IL; five grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert H. Peters of Colorado.  She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sisters.  
 

Private Family Memorial Services will be held at a later date with inurnment at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, Illinois.
