Donald L. Staley

Donald LaVerne Staley was born to Keith and Roberta (Colson) Staley on February 8, 1961 in Tecumseh, Nebraska. Don grew up in Tecumseh and attended Tecumseh Public Schools, graduating in 1979.  After graduation, Don worked for Don Ensor Sanitation Service and later Asplundh Tree Service and MBA Poultry until he was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer. 

Don was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska.  In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his friends at the Harvest Bowl and being with his family.  After his health declined, Don enjoyed word search books.  He passed away June 9, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 58 years.

 Don is survived by his sisters Joyce Lockard and husband Jerry and Rebecca Kling and husband Ron, Jr of Auburn, caregiver and aunt, Betty Colson of Tecumseh and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

 He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Rodney Colson and wife Bernie, grandparents, Elmer and LuraEtta Staley of Tecumseh and Elmer and Lauretta Colson of Pawnee City.  

   Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2019 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Pastor Corey Miller officiating.

   Register book signing will be at the Wherry Mortuary Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

   Memorials in lieu of flowers may go to the family’s choice.

   Inurnment will be in the Tecumseh Cemetery, Tecumseh, Nebraska.
