Carolyn Jean (Garver) Reilly

   Carolyn Jean (Garver) Reilly was born in Brownville, Nebraska to Charlie and Helen (Newton) Garver on March 4, 1935.  She was one of two children.

  Carolyn received her education at the elementary and high school in both Nemaha and Brownville, graduating from Nemaha High School.  After graduation, Carolyn worked for a time at the telephone office and Danny Dare Sewing Factory in Auburn.  

On September 27, 1959, Carolyn was united in marriage to Joe Reilly in Auburn, Nebraska.  Two children were born from this union.  
Carolyn was a member of the United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed working outside in her large garden, which contained many, many strawberry plants.  In her spare time, she liked to sew and embroider.  She had to give up these activities when her rheumatoid arthritis became severe.  Cooking for her family was also a huge joy for Carolyn.  She enjoyed going to sporting events while her daughters were in high school, continuing her love of sports many years after they graduated.  

When dementia began to make it unsafe for Carolyn to live at home, she was admitted to the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Auburn, Nebraska on September 29, 2010.  She passed away at Good Samaritan on April 20, 2019 at the age of 84 years, 1 month and 16 days.  

 Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Raymond, and aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Those left to mourn her passing are her husband, Joe Reilly of Tecumseh, her daughters, Debbie Reilly and Candy Laue and husband Lloyd of Tecumseh, her cherished and beloved grandchildren; granddaughter, Shelby Potter and husband Craig of Rising City and grandson, Kyle Laue of Tecumseh, Nebraska. 

   Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Rev. Ken Tubbesing officiating.

   Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska. 

   Memorials may go to the family’s choice.

   Interment will be in the Tecumseh Cemetery, Tecumseh, Nebraska.
