Belle (Hays) Olsen Boline
Belle Hays was born to Cecil and Florence (Miner) Hays on June 11, 1920 in rural Johnson County, Nebraska. She grew up on the farm and attended Tecumseh Public Schools, later graduating from Cook High School.
Belle was united in marriage to Leland Olsen at the United Methodist Church. To this union two children were born, Deborah and Craig. They made their home in Tecumseh where they raised their family. Belle assisted her husband Leland with the bookkeeping for their family business, the Olsen Lumber Company, and also worked for many years as a bookkeeper/accounting clerk for Tecumseh Building & Loan.
Belle and Leland were longtime members of the First Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star. In her spare time, Belle enjoyed playing bridge, sewing, dancing, gardening and cooking. Leland passed away April 22, 1979. After his death, Belle married Clifford Boline, Sr. in 1980. They moved to Lincoln and Cliff died in 1986. Belle continued to live in Lincoln until her death on December 17, 2017 at The Harbor House in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 97 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Sack and husband Ronald of Crete, son, Craig Olsen of Lincoln, several granddaughters, 8 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Belle was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Leland Olsen, second husband, Clifford Boline, Sr., brother, Franklin Hays and sisters, Helen Neuhaus, Elizabeth Blue and Evelyn Knox.
Private family graveside services were held at the Tecumseh Cemetery, Tecumseh, Nebraska.
