Dean Yoble Obituary

Harold Dean Yoble was born February 26, 1935 at home on the farm east of DuBois to Edmund F. and Hettie (Westerman) Yoble.  He was the youngest of six children born to this union. Harold went by the name ‘Dean’ a majority of his life.  Dean attended school in DuBois  and graduated from DuBois High School in 1953.

On June 3, 1956, Harold was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Rohlmeier.  Four children were born to this couple, Roy David, Susan Kay, Sheryl Lynn, and Lisa Deanne. Dean served in the Army Reserves until he had a medical discharge.  He was engaged in farming with his father and brother Floyd.

Dean was an International fan and belonged to the Nebraska Chapter #12 International Tractor Club.  He had several restored tractors and also a crawler.  Dean and Carolyn went to many of the National I.H. Tractor shows and state shows.  He made sure Roy got a tractor for his first birthday.

Dean and Carolyn were members of the DuBois United Methodist Church where he served on the Board of Trustees at various times.  When Dean was a youth, he would walk from the farm into town for Sunday School at the church.  Usually Carolyn’s aunt Valma would pick him up along the road and give him a lift.

Dean enjoyed working with wood and made shadow boxes, doll cradles, various decorative barns, creches, and a rocking horse.  He also built sheds for Roy’s toy implements and a wooden combine to play with. Carolyn and Dean enjoyed gospel music and the old-style country music.  The song, Three Wooden Crosses was one of their favorites.  Its story describes a farmer and a teacher which they each were and also shows that God has a plan, even if we don’t know it at the time.

He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn (Rohlmeier) Yoble on February 27, 2023; his parents, Edmund and Hettie (Westerman) Yoble; sisters Altha Hecht and Fern Andrews; brothers Wyeth Yoble and Floyd Yoble; and an infant brother; brothers-in-law Clarence Hecht and Owen Andrews; nephews Kenny Hecht, Wayne Hecht, Jerald Andrews, and Harold Andrews and niece Phyllis (Andrews) Smith.

Dean is survived by son Roy (Cathy) Yoble and their son, David (Ginger) Yoble and children August & Flora and daughter Emily (Aaron) Jarzynka and daughter Zoe and Brian Yoble, daughters Susan (David) Fink and their son Thomas (Samantha) Fink, Sheri Yoble (Robert Dietrich) and their daughter Jessica Fetherkile with daughters Ariana, Layla and Camryn and son James Dietrich, and Lisa Yoble and her daughter Jordan Lang (Brandon Macke) with daughter Hadley and sons Logan Lang (Madison Panko) Kaden Lang, sister-in-law Ruby Yoble, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
