William "Bill" Ambroz

William "Bill" Ambroz, 89, of Tecumseh, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018 surrounded by loved ones.  

Bill was born in Tecumseh to John & Elsie Ambroz on December 26, 1928.  He married Georgetta June Wendt on September 15, 1951 in Tecumseh, NE. He was an Artilleryman and Wire Section Chief  in the US Army during the Korean War.   He spent the rest of his years contently farming in Johnson/Nemaha County. When he had a rare break from farming, he enjoyed fishing and going to the races with his boys. 

He retired from farming and was found helping to keep St. Andrew’s Catholic school spotless for the students.   He was involved in American Legion, Knights of Columbus, and National Farmers Organization.  For fun, Bill enjoyed listening to polka music and playing cards with June and their friends.

His daughter Barbara, his parents John and Elsie, and his three siblings precede Bill in death. 

Survivors include his wife of 66 years June, three sons, William Jr, Brad, and Blaine, five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska, with Father Thomas Dunavan officiating. 

Visitation will be at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Friday, January 19, 2018 from 9:00 a.m., to 8:00 p.m.  Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m.

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Johnson County Veterans Memorial, C/O American Legion, PO Box 404 Tecumseh, NE  68450
