Eller at McWilliams Church near Talmage on 8-13-1922. He was confirmed in 1937 at the E & R Church in Syracuse by Rev. Walter Bechtold. Vic graduated from Burr High School in 1939 and was drafted into the Army on 9-17-1942 where he received Basic Training at Kearns, Utah. While in the Army Air Corps, Vic was an airplane mechanic. He was in NYC on VJ Day in 1945 and remembered it well. After 3 years, 7 months, and 12 days, Victor was honorably discharged on 28 Feb 1946. He was very proud of being a veteran.

They enjoyed celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in Feb. 2002 before Esta passed away in Sep. 2002. Vic continued to live in Tecumseh until Nov. 2013 when he became a resident of the Good Samaritan Home in Beatrice.

Vic was a lifelong trapper, hunter and fisherman. He began trapping at an early age to earn spending money. He learned to do taxidermy work and and hunted all over the US, Canada and Africa. He was proud of the many mounts acquired and hanging in his Trophy Room. When neighbors and friends encountered rodent problems, Vic created the one-man business of Animal Damage Control in 1928 and trapped the nuisances. He continued to hunt big game and trap a variety of animals until 2012.

Life memberships included: American Legion, NRA, NRA Whittington Center, the National Trappers Association, the North American Trap Collectors Association, and a lifetime charter member of the WW II Memorial Society.  Vic was also a member of the 7th Ferrying Group from WW II, and the Strategic Air Command Museum.
