Tina L (Dieckgraeff) Wilken

  Tina Lydia (Dieckgraeff) Wilken was born January 9, 1922 on the farm where her family lived near Talmage, NE, to Louis and Helene (Schneidewind) Dieckgraeff.   She was baptized April 23, 1922 by Rev. Henry Stave, the pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Talmage, NE.  Her family moved to Cook, NE after her father's death.  She was confirmed on Palm Sunday, April 23, 1935, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cook, NE., by Rev. W.F. H. Heuer.  Tina graduated from Cook High School in 1939.  She was employed at the Cook Telephone Office until her marriage on June 22, 1941 to Herman Wilken of Sterling, NE.  This union was blest with four daughters and one son.  Years later she was employed at Campbell’s Soup Co. in Tecumseh, NE. for 21 years.  Tina was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Cook.  She enjoyed Bible Study and quilting until her health no longer permitted.  After health problems, she moved to Belle Terrace in Tecumseh, NE in 2012.   She loved God and her family.  Tina went to her heavenly home on Jan 10, 2017 after suffering several strokes, at the age of 95.   Her memory will live on through her 5 children, 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Herman of 59 years, her parents, brothers Ernest age 15, and Louis Dieckgraeff; sisters Dora Dermann, Minnie Leach, Irene Erwin and son-in-law Robert Kerner.  

 Tina is survived by son Paul Wilken (Diane) of Cook, NE; daughters Helen Michel (Norm) of DeWitt, NE, Lucille Kerner of Blackhawk, SD, Marj Adcock (Tom) of Omaha, NE, Delores Bischoff of Cook, NE; 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Hilda and Richard Kasl of Wilber, NE; and many nieces and nephews.                                                                  

      Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Grace Lutheran Church in Cook, Nebraska with Rev. Jim Helgren officiating.

   Visitation will be at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Friday, January 13, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m.

   Memorials may go to the family’s choice.

   Interment will be in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery, rural Cook, Nebraska.
