Ruth Audrey (Young) Rohmeyer

Ruth Audrey Rohmeyer, 94 of Summerfield, Kansas passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 in Frankfort, Kansas. She was born on October 11, 1922 to Ernest and Clara (Adams) Young in Summerfield, Kansas.

Ruth grew up in Marietta, Kansas and attended school in Oketo, Kansas and graduating as Salutatorian of the class of 1941.

Ruth married Fred, G. Rohmeyer on December 20, 1942.  To this union two children were born, Donald D. and Donna J.  Ruth farmed along side of Fred for many years. Ruth drove the tractor until the age 85.

Ruth enjoyed dancing in the younger years, holiday dinners with family and socializing with neighbors.

Ruth entered the Frankfort Care Home on September 29, 2015.

Ruth was preceded in death by her, parents Ernest and Clara Young,  husband Fred on June 4, 2003, sisters and brother-in-laws, Helen and Irvin Schneider, Marilyn and Winton Brooks,  and nephew, Merlin Brooks.

Ruth is survived by her son, Donald (Shery) Rohmeyer of Summerfield, KS, daughter Donna Rohmeyer of  Marysville, KS, grandchildren, Brandie Brown, Justin Rohmeyer, Tammy McClintock, 10 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren, brother Robert (Darlene) Young, sister, Bertha (Bill) Hellmer, numerous nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

Celebration of Life  2:00 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2016 at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Officiating Reverend Eric Biehl.  Visitation on Sunday, November 20, 2016 from Noon-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 3-5 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, 919  G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Family request everyone dress casual.
