Ruth E (Schmidt) Lintz

Ruth Elizabeth (Schmidt) Lintz, 96, of Tecumseh, passed away at the Johnson County Hospital in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Saturday morning, May 14, 2016. She was born to Edward George and Ida (Seibold) Schmidt on March 8, 1920 at Chalco, Nebraska.  Ruth attended elementary school through the eighth grade at Stinder School and graduated from Papillion High School in 1938.

  She was united in marriage to Raymond Walter Lintz on February 14, 1939 in Papillion, Nebraska.  To this union five children were born.  Raymond and Ruth made their home northeast of Tecumseh where they raised their family and farmed.  Ruth was a homemaker, loved the outdoors, grew a bountiful garden and worked part time as a seamstress at Danny and Debby Dare clothing factory in Auburn.  She was a member of the Spring Creek District # 19 school board, election board member, Kensington Extension Club member, 4-H Leader, faithful blood donor for the United Blood Services and was very involved with the Johnson County Fair.  Ruth was an active member of the United Methodist Church and Women's Fellowship. 

 Ruth is survived by her children, Margie Jean Farley of Glenrock, WY, Esther Buethe and husband Eldon of Tecumseh, Anton E. Lintz and wife Sharon of Tecumseh, Dorothy Woltemath of Hamburg, IA, Beverly Forrest and husband Alan of Arlington, VA, brother-in-law Eddie Pallas of Weslaco, TX, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.  

  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Raymond (8-2-1992), sons-in-law, Charles Farley, Ronald Woltemath, Gordon Scoles, sisters, Ivy Glasson Nelson and husbands Herbert and John, Marjorie Gosch Pallas and husband Dale, brothers, Lowell Schmidt and wife Virginia, Melvin Schmidt and wife Doris and Donald Schmidt and wife Elizabeth, sisters-in-law, Helen Lintz and Ruth V. Lintz and brother-in-law, Wilber Lintz.

 Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Rev. Rob Clark officiating.  

Visitation will be at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials contributions may go to the United Methodist Church or Spring Creek Cemetery Association.

Interment will be in the Spring Creek Cemetery, northeast of Tecumseh, Nebraska.
