    Roland Leon Chritton was born to Frederick and Edith Pearl (Abbott) Chritton on May 16, 1936 in Tecumseh, Nebraska.  Rollie attended Tecumseh Public Schools and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1955.

   He served his country during the Vietnam Era in the U.S. Army from his enlistment on May 13, 1959 to April 11, 1961 when he transferred to the Army Reserves, continuing his service until his honorable discharge on May 12, 1965. 

  Rollie was united in marriage to Janet Elaine Harman on December 31, 1965 in Lincoln, Nebraska.  To this union two daughters, Debbie and Sharon were born.  The couple later divorced in 1987. 

  Rollie was a lifelong farmer and also worked the 3-11 shift for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Lincoln, retiring after 30 years.  In his spare time, Rollie loved gardening and was especially known for his tomatoes, raised rabbits, enjoyed planting and maintaining trees, reading tractor magazines and farm related papers and loved going to auctions and the pie at the food stand that accompanied them.  Rollie was an animal lover, especially his dogs, Worm and Duke, and loved spoiling all animals.  He was always inventing new things for tomatoes and rabbits. 

    He passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 11 days.

    Rollie is survived by his dog, Duke of the farm, daughters, Debbie Skudler and husband Bob of Omaha and Sharon Stoffers and husband Ron of Carter Lake, IA, granddaughter, Sophia Taylor, 5 step- grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren, nephew, Dennis Chritton, nieces, Diane Voichoski, Carol Springer, Stephanie Sam, Cindy Meeker, Nancy Rogers, Lisa Scott and Gina Harman, other relatives and friends. 

  He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Pearl, brothers, Raymond and Harold Chritton, sister-in-law, Geraldine Chritton, grandson, Nicholas Schmitz and his beloved dog, Worm (7-26-16). 

  Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska, with Rev. Eric Biehl officiating.    Visitation will be at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m.   Memorials may go to the Beatrice Humane Society.

   Inurnment will be in the Vesta Cemetery, rural Tecumseh, Nebraska with military honors by the Nebraska National Guard Funeral Honors Team and the VFW Post #8221 of Tecumseh.   Online condolences may be left @ www.wherrymortuary.com.
