Richard Leon Lee

    Richard L. "Buddy" Lee was born December 19, 1933, in Webbers Falls, OK to Robert L. and Martha Ellen (Smith) Lee and passed away November 11, 2015 in Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1953, Richard joined the United States Air Force. He served for 20 years, retiring in 1973, with the rank of Master Sergeant. In his time in the USAF, he was stationed in Lincoln, Nebraska, Beale AFB, California, and in Omaha, Nebraska with tours of duty in England, Spain, Okinawa, and Thailand.

    Richard was joined in marriage to Patricia Ann Britt on January 25, 1957 in Wymore, Nebraska. To this union were born four children: Mary, Margaret, Richard, and Rebecca. Richard was a proud member of the American Legion and VFW. He loved taking his grandchildren fishing and spending time with his brother-in-law, Roger Britt. He liked to get together with his family and play cards and dominos at which he was very competitive. He loved it when his family asked him to make fried chicken for them. He will be remembered for riding his scooter around DuBois and his granddaughter, Zadie, and his great-grandchildren will remember getting rides on the scooter, as well as several children around DuBois.
   He is survived by his wife, Patricia Lee of DuBois, children, Mary & Bruce Sejkora, Beatrice, Margaret Nehring, Lincoln, Richard & Holly Lee, Jacksonville, FL, Rebecca & Glenn Plager, Elk Creek, grandchildren, BJ & April Sejkora, Tecumseh, Matt & Sommer Sejkora, Beatrice, Alex Sejkora, Beatrice, Erin & Cody Agnew, Lincoln, Brittany Nehring, Tacoma, WA, Carol Lee, Jacksonville, FL, Patricia & Cory Natter, Jacksonville, FL,  Kelsee & Justin Sayer, Peru and Zadie Plager, Elk Creek, great-grandchildren, Dawn, Leon, Liberty & Sydney Sejkora, Tristan & Ryder Agnew, Julian & Kason Lee, Victoria Natter and Quinlee & Peri Sayer, nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Richard was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Famous “Sonny” Lee and Robert L. Lee, Jr, one granddaughter, parents-in-law, Lewis Walter and Margaret Britt, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Lewis Lee Britt, Walter M. Britt, Richard Britt, Roger Britt and his wife, Irene Britt, and Winston Britt.   

    Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Wherry Mortuary in Pawnee City, Nebraska with Rev. Ken Tubbesing officiating.  Visitation will be at the Wherry Mortuary in Pawnee City, Nebraska, Friday, November 13, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m.  Memorials may go to the family’s choice.   Inurnment will be in the DuBois Cemetery, DuBois, Nebraska with full military honors by the Offutt Air Force Base Honor Guard.   Online condolences may be left @ www.wherrymortuary.com.
