I did not know your father but my Dad, Byford Elwonger, tells a story about how Omer gave him and Lowell Heim a great tour of Oahu once while their ship was docked there for a few days during WW II. He picked them up at the dock in a jeep he somehow had access to and showed them a really fun time. They didn't see your Dad again until after the war but it was a good memory for them.

Harriet & Family: Sorry for your loss. Learned of it yesterday during the eclipse in visiting with Virginia Gerdes and remembering the many hunting trips and BU reunions. Always enjoyed our conversations, even when they extended beyond pheasant hunting and golf! And Harriet, think you were one of Mother's favorites with your interest in teaching. So sorry to hear about Omer passing! I'll never forget how friendly he was when we all came out for piano lessens and he always greeted us and visited every Sunday at Church! His kindness and his wonderful smile will be missed!

Our prayers are with the Leech Family, over the loss of Omer. Both Harriet and Omer were very faithful to The Humboldt United Methodist Church, while we were Pastor's there. They made us feel at home and were so encouraging, after we moved to Humboldt. We could count on The Leeches to be with us in prayer through our appointment.
