Maxine L (Lade) Diekmann

                                                      Maxine Lucile Diekmann

  Maxine Lucile (Lade) Diekmann was born to Ernest and Gertrude (Beethe) Lade on March 6, 1926 at Hazard, Nebraska.  She was baptized March 28, 1926 and confirmed April 2, 1939.  She attended rural elementary school through the eighth grade.  Her first job was working as a housekeeper for the Douglas family in Tecumseh.

  Maxine was united in marriage to Arlen H. Diekmann on July 14, 1946.  They made their home in Beatrice for about 4 years, later moving to a farm south of Vesta where Arlen farmed for 28 years.  They moved into Tecumseh in 1978 where they resided until their death.  Arlen passed away March 17, 2004.

   Maxine and Arlen were longtime members of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Tecumseh.  She was a farmwife and homemaker and also worked at the Campbell’s Soup Company in Tecumseh and as a CNA at the Maple Grove Home. 

   In her spare time Maxine enjoyed cooking, gardening and playing cards.  She also enjoyed coffee and fellowship with a group of friends.  Maxine especially loved spending time with her family.

   She passed away Friday afternoon, July 22, 2016 at Belle Terrace in Tecumseh, Nebraska at the age of 90 years.

  Maxine is survived by her daughter, Sharon Othmer and husband Bob of Tecumseh, granddaughter, Kim Bartels and husband Dan of Tecumseh, 2 great-grandsons, Cody and Kyle Bartels, sisters, Ruth Lantz of Tecumseh and Gerry Gorton and husband Jay of Lincoln, many nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law, JoAnne Lade of Tecumseh, Virginia Meyerkorth of Rockport, MO, Janet Goers of Lincoln, Alice Lade of Sioux City, IA, Twila Hancock and husband R.K. of Montrose, CO, Lodeen Clausen of Louisville, KY, Ruth Stroemer of Beatrice, and Betty Cecil of Puyallup, WA.
  She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Gertrude, husband Arlen, sisters, Evelyn Kaster and an infant sister, brothers, Virgil, Bob, Kenneth, Orvil and Richard Lade and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law. 

 Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2016 at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska, with Rev. Jason Wolter officiating.  Visitation will be at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 1-8 p.m.  Memorials may go to the St. John's Lutheran Church.  Interment will be in the Tecumseh Cemetery, Tecumseh, Nebraska.  Online condolences may be left @ www.wherrymortuary.com.
