Maude Mae (Poteet) Sejkora, 96 of Burchard, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Gold Crest in Adams, Nebraska.  She was born on October 18, 1919, the youngest daughter of Roy and Maggie (Henderson) Poteet.  She had two older sisters, Audrey Wehrbein and Camilla Bookwalter.  Maude and her sisters attended Burchard schools. During the last couple of years of high school, Maude worked at the telephone office in Burchard.  She worked an eight hour day in three shifts-five days a week and her pay was nine cents an hour.

Maude continued living on the farm until 2014 when she moved to Platte City, Missouri with her daughter and husband.  The last few years were spent in Adams at the Gold Crest Retirement Center.
