Lucille (Parker) DeJonge

B. Lucille (Parker) DeJonge, 90, of Auburn formerly of rural Humboldt, Nebraska was born on October 4, 1925, in Beaver, Oklahoma to Ruben and Flora (Patte) Parker.  She grew up in Beaver, Oklahoma attending public school at Beaver High School.

On April 19, 1945, Lucille was united in marriage to George DeJonge in Beaver, Oklahoma.  Following their marriage, the couple moved to Richardson County, Nebraska.  The couple farmed in the Richardson County area from 1945-1990 when George passed away.  Lucille was confirmed and baptized at the Long Branch Lutheran Church in rural Humboldt and later transferred her membership to Faith Lutheran in Humboldt.  She enjoyed farming with George and visiting with family and friends.

Lucille passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Auburn, Nebraska having reached the age of ninety years, one month, and seven days.  She was preceded in death her by parents; husband George DeJonge, in laws Eibo and Elise DeJonge, brothers Jay, Dillard, and Ruben Parker, infant siblings Bob and Theta Parker, a granddaughter Trisha Watton and sisters-in-law Edna and Emma Lee DeJonge.

Lucille is survived by her loving children: Robert “Bob” DeJonge and his wife Cathy of Sedalia, MO; Glenda Johnson and her husband Craig of Auburn, NE; Dell DeJonge and wife Crys of rural Humboldt, NE; grandchildren: Catrina (Richard) DeJonge-Moritz of Sedalia, MO; Travis Watton of Maui, HA; Sandra (Derrick) Fujii of Sedalia, MO; Tiff DeJonge of Tecumseh, NE; Jorja DeJonge of rural Humboldt, NE; step-grandchildren: Kirk (Jessica) Johnson of Fresno, CA; Jerrod Lippold of rural Humboldt, NE; Jeramiah Lippold of Falls City, NE; great-grandchildren: Oliver Moritz of Sedalia, MO; Hannah and Emmalee Fujii of Sedalia, MO; step geat-granddaughter Livia Johnson of Fresno, CA; sisters: Ima (Ray) Loftin of Amarillo, TX; Louise Behrends of Johnson, NE; a brother Otto “Corky” Parker of Beaver, OK; sisters-in-law: Audrey & Sandy Parker of Beaver, OK; brothers-in-law: Lammert DeJonge of Humboldt, NE; Ommo DeJonge and his wife Marilyn of Humboldt, NE; Ed DeJonge of Humboldt, NE; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Humboldt, Nebraska with Reverend Jonathan Rathjen officiating.

 Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2015, at The Wherry Mortuary in Humboldt, Nebraska.  Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment will be at the Humboldt Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be given to the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Auburn, Nebraska.
