Keyunn Lorett Koester (December 27, 2013-August 9, 2015) will be remembered as “a ray of sunshine” to those who knew him. His big brown eyes and sweet, yet ornery smile, could melt any heart.

Keyunn was a tiny little guy with big ambitions.  He loved trying to keep up with his four big brothers, farming with Daddy, and helping Mommy around the house.  He was known for placing any available object on his head. And he absolutely loved baths or showers—to the point of even jumping in fully clothed, or smearing food in his hair to prove he needed one.  Keyunn loved to “go” with people (he never knew a stranger), but if he couldn’t he would blow you an abundance of kisses and wave with exuberance.

With Keyunn’s passing we remind others that although his time on earth seemed far too short, his life is one to be celebrated, as he eternally plays at our Lord and Savior’s feet.

Keyunn Lorett joins grandmother and namesake, Loretta Winchell, in heaven.  He is survived by his father and mother Chet and Hope Koester, big brothers Kaisonn, Kodenn, Kylenn and Kaminn (DuBois, NE); grandparents Vaughn and Patricia Koester (Dubois, NE) and Kim Winchell (Axtell, KS); aunts, uncles and cousins:  Clint and Katie Koester, Weston and Troy (Lincoln, NE), Ryan and MaryJo Koester (DuBois,NE), Janae Koester (DuBois, NE), Dale and Carissa Shirley, Abra, Brodric, Kacia, Holland and Job (Vermillion, KS), Jeremy and Holly Brandt, Randyn, Tegan, Kennen and Zavier (Frankfort, KS), Ben and Kami Hirons (Phoenix, AZ), Kyle Winchell (Manhattan, KS); and special care taker Paige Freeman and the entire Freeman family (Table Rock, NE).

A visitation will be held Thursday, August 13th from 1-8 p.m. (with the family receiving friends from 6-8) at the Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street in Pawnee City, NE. The memorial service will be on Friday, at 10 a.m. at the Bern United Methodist Church. Officiating Reverend Willy Banza and Reverend Ken Tubbesing. Interment will be at Friedens U.C.C. Cemetery, rural Bern, Kansas.  Memorials to family choice.  Online condolences may be left at www.wherrymortuary.com.
