June I (Houghtalling) Dorsch

    June I. (Houghtalling) Dorsch was born to John C. and Reba Belle (Pierce) Houghtalling on December 22, 1943 in Kearney, Nebraska.  She grew up in central Nebraska and attended Pleasanton High School through the 10th grade. 

  She was united in marriage to Lorin E. Dorsch on June 2, 1974 in Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Lorin and June lived in Elk Creek after their marriage, then moved to Tecumseh and later resided in Pawnee City, Nebraska. 

  June worked for the Campbell Soup Company in Tecumseh for nine years, Belle Terrace Nursing Home for 10 years, Colonial Acres Nursing Home in Humboldt for five years and later worked at Casey’s in Pawnee City for five years until her retirement.  Lorin passed away June 27, 2005.  June moved to The Village in Pawnee City after Lorin’s death.  She loved her little pet dog, Shelby.  June was a very kind hearted person and was always willing to help anyone in need.  She drove many friends to doctor appointments. 

When her health declined, she became a resident of the Pawnee Manor (Premier Estates) Nursing Home in Pawnee City.   June passed away there on February 13, 2017 at the age of 73 years.

  June was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lorin, and ten sisters and brothers. 

She is survived by her sister, Jackie Houghtalling of Hastings and numerous nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters in law.     

 Graveside memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Tecumseh Cemetery, Tecumseh, Nebraska with Rev. Tim Llewellyn officiating.

   A register book will be available for signatures at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  A short memorial service will also be held February 26, 2017 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Pawnee City, Nebraska following the 8:30 a.m. worship service.

   Memorials may go to the family’s choice.

   Inurnment will be in the Tecumseh Cemetery, Tecumseh, Nebraska.
