Jose Pena Barraza

Jose Pena Barraza, 55, of Tecumseh, passed away at the Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln, Nebraska on Monday, July 24, 2017.  He was born May 7, 1962 in Santiago, Mexico to Antonio and Victoria Pena Barraza.  He was united to Belen Pena in Chicago, Ilinois.

 Jose worked for several horse race tracks, Campbell's Soup Company in Tecumseh, Gerdes Farms, Johnson and was employed at Cargill in Nebraska City at the time of his death.  In his spare time he loved watching the Cubs and going to the horse tracks.  

  He is survived by his wife, Belen, two daughters, Ivette Kinney and Sulymar Pena, son, Kevin Pena, brothers, Gregorio Pena, Telesforo Pena, Julio Pena, Magdaleno Pena and Rafael Pena and sisters, Antonia Quinones, Maria Elena Chavez, Hipolita Saucedo and Ana Maria Pena de Barraza.

Jose was preceded in death by his parents.  

Mass of Christian Burial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Father Craig Clinch officiating.  

Visitation will be at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at the church.

 Memorials may go to the family's choice.

 Interment will be in the St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery, Tecumseh, Nebraska.
