JoAnne (Tucker) Lade was the fourth child of nine born to Maxwell and Margaret (Morrissey) Tucker on April 10, 1930 in Tecumseh, Nebraska.  She was baptized as an infant at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tecumseh.   She attended Tecumseh Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1948.  JoAnne was on National Honor Society all through high school and served as a representative for Girl’s State.  She received her teaching certificate at Peru State College and taught country school briefly before her marriage.

JoAnne was united in marriage to the love of her life, Orvil Lade at Marysville, KS on January 15, 1949.  After their marriage they lived in Beatrice, near Vesta and later made their home in Tecumseh where they raised their family of ten. Both Orvil and JoAnne worked for many years for the Campbell Soup Company.  JoAnne retired at age 59 from Campbell’s Soup after 25 years. She also worked at the Tecumseh School cafeteria for many years.

JoAnne’s passion in life were God, family and community. She was very active in her church, serving as Sunday School Teacher, on Altar Guild, volunteering for St. John’s Preschool, and every year Orvil and JoAnne would plant 100’s of gladiolas for the church altar.  She and Orvil served as foster parents for many children.   JoAnne served on the Nebraska Foster Care Review Board, Tecumseh School Board and VFW Auxiliary Board.   She loved watching her grandchildren’s events, cross-stitching, sewing and raising flowers.

JoAnne and Orvil celebrated 57 years of marriage together.  Orvil passed away January 2, 2008.  When her health declined, JoAnne moved to Ridgeview Towers in Tecumseh and later to Belle Terrace.  She passed away on December 10, 2017 surrounded by family at the age of 87 years.
